Robert Nira Dies in Pedestrian Crash on 215 Freeway near 4th Street

 
PERRIS, CA (May 12, 2023) — Robert Nira died in a pedestrian accident on the 215 Freeway near 4th Street.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 1:00 a.m. Thursday. For an unknown reason, Nira, of Perris, accessed the freeway through the east side shoulder and successfully crossed the northbound lanes. However, as he hopped the center median wall to cross the southbound side, a driver of a 2016 Subaru Outback struck him in the fast lane.
 
Due to the impact, Nira was sent to the shoulder of the southbound lanes. The 34-year-old Menifee man driving the Subaru pulled over and called 911.
 
Riverside County Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene but pronounced Nira dead minutes later.
