Pearce Boyer Arrested after DUI Hit-and-Run Collision on Highway 49 near McKnight Way

 
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (July 26, 2022) – Authorities arrested 75-year-old Pearce Fowler Boyer of Grass Valley following a DUI hit-and-run collision on Highway 49 on Thursday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on July 21 at about 5:35 p.m. A southbound 2019 Mercedes C300 reportedly slammed into the rear of a stopped Altima near McKnight Way.
 
The Mercedes driver, identified as Boyer, exited his vehicle and checked on the condition of the Altima driver and a passenger. However, Boyer later fled the scene without exchanging information.
 
As per reports, the 76-year-old Altima driver, identified as Robert Beach, and the 71-year-old passenger, Janet Beach, suffered minor injuries. It is unknown if the victims needed hospitalization.
 
A short time later, authorities located the fleeing Mercedes and stopped it on Dog Bar Road. Boyer was arrested on a felony DUI charge and a misdemeanor hit-and-run.
 
CHP continues to investigate the accident.
