Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Pedestrian Richard Plasch Hit, Killed Walking His Dog in Fremont
FREMONT, CA (March 18, 2021) – One person suffered injuries in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident in the 100 block of J Street on March 9.
According to the California Highway Patrol, they located found the victim, identified as Richard Plasch of Fremont, lying in the intersection of J Street and 2nd Street in the Niles District around 6:00 a.m. Police said Plasch suffered injuries that were consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
Officers found Plasch in the roadway and started medical aid. They transported him to a trauma center for treatment, but Plasch succumbed to his injuries Monday.
They found the uninjured dog nearby.
Currently, the authorities are still looking for the hit-and-run driver or drivers involved. Investigators located surveillance video of the area around the time of the incident and are searching for the drivers of two vehicles who may have seen Plasch walking his dog.
