Ricardo Cruz Arrested in Hit-and-Run Crash near Wood Street and Alisal Street That Killed Child, Hospitalized Father

 
SALINAS, CA (August 5, 2024) — Ricardo Cruz faces charges following a hit-and-run accident near Wood Street and Alisal Street that killed a toddler and hospitalized a father.
 
The Salinas Police said Ricardo Archundia Cruz turned himself in to the US Customs and Border Protection agent around 9:00 a.m. Saturday. This was after he struck and killed a 3-year-old and injured the toddler’s father at the corner of Wood Street and Alisal Street under unclear circumstances. Cruz fled toward Mexico after the accident but turned himself in after his family convinced him.
 
At this time, Cruz remains incarcerated at Monterey County Jail.
