Raul Gontes Killed in Rollover Accident on 15 Freeway [Baker, CA]

Early Morning Rollover Crash Involving Two Cars near Baker Kills Compton Man

 
BAKER, CA (March 28, 2022) – Raul Negrete Gontes died in a rollover accident on 15 Freeway near Baker, early Saturday morning.
 
The accident happened around 3:08 a.m. on March 26 along the northbound freeway near Halloran Springs Road. According to the CHP, a sedan and an SUV collided for unknown reasons. The impact caused the SUV to roll over multiple times before landing in the center divider.
 
Gontes, a 39-year-old Compton resident, was the one driving the SUV. He suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.
 
The condition of the other driver was not immediately known.
 
The Barstow California Highway Patrol is still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
