15-Year-Old Rashad Al-Hakim Jr. Dies after Struck by Car near Hoover High School

 
FRESNO, CA (October 17, 2022) – Rashad Al-Hakim Jr. was hit and killed by a car in Fresno on Tuesday, October 4.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:00 p.m. near the Hoover High School. According to the Fresno Police Department, an unknown vehicle struck the 15-year-old student in front of the high school.
 
After the crash, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
Almost 20 minutes later, officers said the driver called the department’s dispatch center to report she had hit something in the road, but she claimed that she was not sure what it was.
 
Meanwhile, first responders rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he died a week later.
 
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help Rashad’s family.
 
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
