Authorities Identify Driver Killed in Fontana Rear-End Crash on 10 Freeway

 
FONTANA, CA (April 7, 2021) – A man who died in a rear-end accident on 10 Freeway in Fontana late Saturday evening has been identified.
 
He was 37-year-old Rafael Torres of San Bernardino, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.
 
On Saturday, April 3, Torres was driving a Scion TC. For unknown reasons, he rear-ended a Ford F-150 traveling east on the 10 Freeway east of Sierra Avenue at about 75 mph.
 
After the impact, the Scion lost control and veered right across all lanes. It then collided into a tree and chain link fence, the CHP said.
 
As a result of the accident, Torres sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene around 11:23 p.m.
 
It is unknown if the other driver was injured in the crash.
