Caltrans Worker Quanda McGadney Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver Taje Jakkar Holliman in Vacaville

 
VACAVILLE, CA (June 6, 2022) – Quanda McGadney died in a hit-and-run crash on 80 Freeway in Vacaville on Friday morning, June 3.
 
The fatal crash happened just after 10:00 a.m. just west of Lagoon Valley Road. Police said a white Mazda 3 struck McGadney in the westbound lanes of the freeway. After striking her, the driver did not stop to render aid.
 
As a result, McGadney suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 51-year-old Fairfield resident, according to the Solano County Coroner’s Office.
 
Police later located the suspect, 31-year-old Taje Jakkar Holliman of San Francisco. They arrested and booked him into Solano County Jail on suspicion of numerous charges, including hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.
 
Caltrans officials said McGadney, a landscape maintenance worker, had served California residents for more than 18 years. She began her service with Caltrans in 2018. She is survived by her 9-year-old daughter, Nairobi, and two sisters, Priscilla Stevenson and Candice McGadney.
 
At this time, the crash is under investigation. Authorities urged anyone with information to call the CHP’s Investigation Tip Line at 917-4491.
