Priscilla Hernandez Killed, Richard Madrid Arrested in DUI Accident on North Riverside Avenue [Rialto, CA]

Police Arrest Richard Madrid with 4 Prior DUI Offenses after Rialto Crash, Priscilla Hernandez Identified

 
RIALTO, CA (June 13, 2022) – Priscilla Hernandez died in a DUI crash in Rialto on Thursday evening, June 9.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:15 p.m. in the 300 block of North Riverside Avenue. According to the Rialto Police Department, 38-year-old Richard Madrid of Fontana was driving at a high rate of speed. He then collided into a Chevrolet HHR driven by a Colton man and his wife, 40-year-old Hernandez of Colton.
 
Responding paramedics rushed Hernandez and her husband to a hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, Hernandez did not survive and was pronounced dead.
 
Her husband suffered significant injuries but now in stable condition.
 
Meanwhile, Madrid sustained minor injuries.
 
Police determined that he was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He also had four DUI related convictions and was previously on felony probation out of Riverside County from 2016 through 2019 for a DUI conviction with three or more prior convictions within the past ten years.
 
Police arrested Madrid and booked him on suspicion of murder. They urged anyone with further information to contact Sgt. Dan Smith at 909-644-6025.
