SAN JOSE, CA (May 10, 2021) — An officer was hit and injured by a car on Suncrest Avenue near Perie Lane early Friday.
 
According to the San Jose police department, the accident happened around 12:40 a.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver who might have been speeding struck the patrol officer, who had been making a traffic stop at the time.
 
As a result, the officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Shortly after, paramedics responded and transported the victim to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, police took the driver into custody and an ongoing investigation continues.
