Senior Dies after Struck by Big Rig in Beaumont

 
BEAUMONT, CA (May 4, 2023) – Pla Khang was hit and killed by a truck while walking along a Beaumont street Monday morning on May 1.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:40 a.m. in the area of Highland Springs Avenue and Sixth Street. According to the Beaumont Police Department, the 84-year-old senior from Banning was on Sixth Street, walking in an unknown direction, when the big rig ran into her.
 
The driver immediately stopped after striking the victim.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and pronouncing Khang dead at the scene.
 
Patrol officers interviewed the trucker, who was not intoxicated and was released at the scene.
 
An investigation into this fatality is underway. Anyone with further information is asked to contact the agency’s traffic bureau at 951-769-8500.
