Peter McCluney Dies in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 74 near Taylor Road

 
MEADOWBROOK, CA (February 7, 2022) — Peter McCluney died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 74 near Taylor Road on Wednesday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. For unknown reasons, 35-year-old McCluney was walking southbound in the northbound No. 1 lane of the highway.
 
Subsequently, an oncoming 2003 Ford F250 pickup traveling about 55 miles per hour struck McCluney, despite the driver’s attempt to avoid the imminent accident.
 
Soon after, the 48-year-old Perris man pulled over and contacted 911. However, McCluney suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
 
At this time, officers have not confirmed the leading cause of the accident. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm more details.
