Person Dead in Pedestrian Crash on Airport Drive

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 23, 2021) — A person died in a pedestrian accident on Airport Drive at Olive Drive Friday night.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 8:41 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in an unknown model struck the pedestrian. Due to the nature of the crash, the victim suffered grave injuries and died shortly after.
 
In the investigation, authorities determined that the victim was sitting in the roadway before being hit by the car. However, the why remains unclear.
 
At this time, authorities have not confirmed the ultimate cause of the accident. However, if anyone would like to help the CHP, please call the department.
