Person Dies in Motorcycle Crash on Hood Franklin Road in Elk Grove

 
ELK GROVE, CA (June 14, 2022) — One person died in a motorcycle accident on Hood Franklin Road near the 5 Freeway on Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle accident happened around 12:48 p.m. As a driver of a Kia Sorento heading westbound on Hood Franklin Road attempted a U-turn, a motorcyclist heading in the same direction subsequently entered the eastbound lanes.
 
However, as the motorcyclist tried to pass up the Kia, the rider instead crashed into the vehicle’s left side.
 
Shortly after, paramedics arrived and brought the seriously injured rider to Kaiser South hospital, where the individual died.
 
As for the driver of the Kia, that person reported no injuries in the crash.
 
At this time, investigators have not released the liability, victim’s name and cause of the accident.
 
However, they learned that the Kia driver was trying to make a U-turn to enter the southbound 5 Freeway at the time of the collision.
