Person Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Santa Monica Boulevard

 
SANTA MONICA, CA (August 3, 2021) — One person died in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Santa Monica Boulevard near Berkley Street Monday morning.
 
According to authorities, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 1:00 a.m. Under unknown circumstances, a driver struck a male pedestrian in the 3100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. Subsequently, the driver fled the scene in a dark-colored newer sedan, heading eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard.
 
Soon after, paramedics reached the scene and transported the victim to a hospital. However, despite life-saving efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries.
 
At this time, detectives need the public’s help to identify the suspect involved in this hit-and-run. Therefore, anyone with information should call the Santa Monica Police Department.
