RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA (November 23, 2021) – A person in a wheelchair suffered serious injuries in a pedestrian accident on Varner Road on November 19.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened just south of Tecolote Road around 5:05 PM.
 
Based on an initial report, the pedestrian was in a motorized wheelchair. Due to unknown reasons, a gray Toyota Camry struck the victim.
 
As a result, the victim sustained major injuries in the collision. Immediately, firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene. Then, medical personnel took the patient to the Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment.
 
Also, the crash closed a stretch of Varner Road near Ramon.
 
At this point, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
