Person Killed in Boulevard Motorcycle Crash on Old Highway 80

 
BOULEVARD, CA (January 10, 2022) — One person died in a motorcycle accident on Old Highway 80 near Live Oak Springs.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal motorcycle crash happened around 5:30 a.m. in San Diego County. For unknown reasons, a man riding a 2009 Yamaha two-wheeler lost control of his eastbound motorcycle. As a result, he veered off the road and struck an asphalt berm, utility pole and tree.
 
Due to the nature of the crash and despite having worn a helmet, the man died at the scene. His name has not been released.
 
At this time, authorities have not confirmed the primary cause of the accident. However, any witnesses with information should reach out to the CHP office.
 
The accident is under investigation.
