BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 10, 2022) — One person died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on California Avenue at Baker Street on Sunday night.
 
According to Bakersfield Police officers, the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 10:45 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in an unknown vehicle struck a pedestrian in the roadway.
 
As a result, the pedestrian suffered serious injuries and died shortly after.
 
As for the driver, the suspect reportedly fled the area, leaving the victim with fatal injuries.
 
Soon after, police responded and performed an investigation into what had happened. At this time, officers have not disclosed the fatal victim’s name and the circumstances of this crash. However, any witnesses with information to share should call the Bakersfield Police.
