Driver Found Dead in Wrecked Car on Del Puerto Canyon Road in Patterson

 
PATTERSON, CA (February 25, 2021) – A man was found dead in a wrecked car early Wednesday morning in Patterson, CHP officials said.
 
A Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputy found the car around 1:15 a.m., February 24, off Del Puerto Canyon Road. It is unknown how long the vehicle had gone unnoticed.
 
The county coroner’s office identified the deceased driver as 30-year-old Pedro Quiroba IV of Patterson.
 
According to the CHP, Quiroba had apparently been driving a 1999 Mazda Miata eastbound on Del Puerto Canyon Road. For unknown reasons, he lost control of his vehicle and went off the roadway into 30 feet down an embankment. The car then struck a tree and came to rest on its side.
 
The car’s engine was cold when emergency responders arrived, the CHP said.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the exact cause of the crash and factors involved.
