Pedestrian Walking Bicycle Struck, Killed by Driver on Driscoll Road in Fremont

 
FREMONT, CA (July 1, 2022) — A pedestrian walking a bike was hit and killed by a driver on Driscoll Road near Carmen Street on Wednesday.
 
According to Fremont Police, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 5:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver heading southbound on Driscoll Road veered into the bike lane and struck a pedestrian walking a bicycle.
 
Shortly after, Fremont police officers and emergency personnel responded to the scene and administered life-saving efforts to the victim. However, efforts fell short, and the unidentified pedestrian died at the scene.
 
The SUV driver stayed and cooperated with police investigators. At this time, officers plan to look at surveillance video footage nearby to determine where the fault lies and other circumstances that resulted in the crash.
