Fatal Train Accident on K Street in Downtown Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 21, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed in a train accident on K Street in downtown Bakersfield Monday morning, April 19.
 
Around 7:15 a.m., the Bakersfield Police Department responded to the 3200 block of K Street and located a deceased body that was struck by the train. Officers were unable to identify the pedestrian’s gender or approximate age due to the severity of injuries.
 
The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity.
 
Due to the collision occurring on the railroad tracks, Union Pacific Police handled the investigation. Officers assisted the on-duty Union Pacific investigator while on scene.
