Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Metro Train on Exposition Boulevard in Los Angeles

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 31, 2022) – A pedestrian died in a train accident at Exposition Boulevard and 7th Avenue, early Tuesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 4:50 a.m. on January 25 near the Crenshaw neighborhood. According to the initial report, the pedestrian was either standing or walking on the tracks when a Metro train struck them.
 
Officers arrived and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
 
The fatal crash prompted a temporary halt to train service on part of the Metro E Line.
 
Metro implemented a bus shuttle service for rail passengers to use in the area. Rail service in the area was restored shortly after 10:00 a.m. The E Line was formerly known as the Expo Line.
 
At this time, an investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
