Police Arrest Jesus Hernandez for DUI after Fatally Striking Pedestrian in Sonoma County

SONOMA COUNTY, CA (February 22, 2022) – A pedestrian died and police arrested Jesus O. Jimenez Hernandez for DUI early Saturday morning in Sonoma County.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 4:00 a.m. on February 19, along Highway 101 south of River Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 29-year-old suspect was driving south on the highway when he struck the male pedestrian who was walking in the lanes of traffic.
 
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. However, authorities have not yet released his name.
 
After striking the pedestrian, Hernandez pulled onto the right shoulder.
 
Arriving officers determined that Hernandez was impaired. They arrested him and booked him into the county jail for DUI charges.
