Man Dead, Driver Wanted after Pedestrian Hit-and-Run on Broadway Drive in Placerville

 
PLACERVILLE, CA (April 27, 2021) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Broadway Drive, Friday evening.
 
According to the Placerville Police Department, the incident happened at about 8:30 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a vehicle hit the man in the 1800 block of Broadway Drive near Airport Road.
 
Emergency crews rushed the pedestrian to a hospital, where he later died. Authorities did not release the name and age of the victim.
 
As per reports, the vehicle, described as a dark sedan, initially stopped after the accident. However, the driver later sped away going east on Broadway Drive.
 
Placerville police continue to investigate the fatal hit-and-run. Investigators ask witnesses or anyone with relevant information to call (530) 642-5210.
