4 Vehicles Involved in Deadly Pedestrian Hit-and-Run on Shields Avenue in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (July 13, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Shields Avenue in Fresno late Saturday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened just before midnight on July 10, at the intersection with Channing Way near West Avenue. According to the Fresno Police Department, a homeless man was trying to cross the road carrying several items, when four vehicles struck him.
 
The first three vehicles left the scene, but the driver of the fourth vehicle stuck around and called police.
 
Officers arrived and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
The driver of a white truck that first hit the victim slowed but did not stop. All of the vehicles were headed east.
 
At this time, police are still investigating the incident and searching for the hit-and-run drivers.
