Pedestrian Dies in Early Morning Hit-and-Run Crash on Rose Avenue in Oxnard

 
OXNARD, CA (July 18, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Rose Avenue and Tiesa Lane in Oxnard early Sunday, July 17.
 
The fatal crash happened around 3:30 a.m. near St. John’s Regional Medical Center. According to the Oxnard Police Department, the victim was walking in the area when a car struck him.
 
The driver of the car, a 20-year-old Oxnard man, did not stop after striking the victim.
 
The pedestrian suffered critical injuries and died at the scene. He was a 58-year-old Santa Barbara resident.
 
Police later located the suspect and determined that he was driving under the influence at the time of the crash. They arrested him on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, DUI and felony hit-and-run,
