Pedestrian Dies after Run Over by Hit-and-Run Car on Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs

 
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (February 8, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Palm Drive and Ironwood Drive in Desert Hot Springs on Saturday night.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on February 5. According to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, the male pedestrian was crossing the intersection when a vehicle struck him.
 
First responders found the pedestrian lying in the middle of the roadway with severe injuries. They attempted saving him, but the man died at the scene.
 
The involved driver, a 17-year-old boy, fled the scene after the crash. Officers eventually found him and arrested him around 8:45 a.m. Sunday. They booked the suspect on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing death.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
