Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Laurel Canyon Boulevard in Sun Valley

 
SUN VALLEY, CA (November 2, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Laurel Canyon Boulevard in Sun Valley late Monday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:35 p.m. on November 1, just north of Strathern Street. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a silver vehicle was traveling north on Laurel Canyon Boulevard when it crashed into the pedestrian who was crossing outside of a marked crosswalk.
 
After hitting the victim, the involved driver took off heading north on Laurel Canyon without rendering aid.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the pedestrian to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Authorities withheld the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large.
 
Police offered a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the offender’s identification, arrest and conviction. They asked anyone with information to call Valley traffic division Detective Wade at 818-644-8036.
