SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (October 27, 2021) – A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash on Grand Avenue in South Los Angeles Monday morning.

The fatal crash happened around 6:40 a.m. at Gage Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the female pedestrian was walking north on Grand Avenue when a tractor-trailer stuck her.

The big rig was turning right onto Gage from northbound Grand when the crash occurred.

The woman suffered severe injuries and died at the scene. Her identity was being withheld pending notification of her family.

Meanwhile, the big rig did not stop after the crash. Police said it appears to be a late model, dark-colored cab with a possible company logo affixed to the driver-side door. From the photo, the trailer looks white with apparent numbers and/or lettering on the front and sides.

Police asked in anyone with information about the driver to contact Detective Berdin of the LAPD’s Central Traffic Detectives at 213-833-3713.
