Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Calloway Drive in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 2, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Calloway Drive in southwest Bakersfield Friday evening.
 
The accident happened just before 7:00 p.m. on December 31, north of Stockdale Highway. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the male pedestrian was walking in the area when a Ford SUV struck him.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and found the pedestrian suffering from major injuries. They attempted CPR on him, but the victim died at the scene.
 
Police said the involved driver fled the scene after the crash. The suspect was last seen traveling eastbound on Marby Grange Way.
 
The Bakersfield Police Department is still investigating the fatality. They asked urged anyone with information to contact them at 661-327-7111.
