SANTA MARIA, CA (July 16, 2021) – Police confirmed that a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run accident in the 500 block of North Broadway on July 10.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened shortly before 11:30 PM.
 
Based on reports, the pedestrian was crossing the road from east to west at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a vehicle came and struck the victim. At this point, the details that led to the accident were not immediately available.
 
As a result, the pedestrian died in the incident. Officials did not release the victim’s identity pending kin notification.
 
Then, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. At this point, the Santa Maria Police is investigating this hit-and-run accident on North Broadway. In addition, no other details are available.
