Pedestrian Dies after Struck by DUI Driver on Rubicon Court in San Rafael

 
SAN RAFAEL, CA (June 15, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a DUI accident on Rubicon Court in San Rafael on Tuesday evening, June 14.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:21 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers said a 2016 Land Rover was traveling northbound on Rubicon Court when the driver struck the 37-year-old female pedestrian who was standing in the roadway.
 
After striking the victim, the driver of the vehicle immediately stopped and performed CPR on the pedestrian.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
 
The name, age and hometown of the victim were not immediately available.
 
The driver was found to have been driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Police arrested them for DUI.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
