Fatal DUI Accident at L Street and Third Avenue

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (April 5, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed Friday evening in a DUI accident in the area of L Street and Third Avenue.
 
According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the accident happened around 10:00 p.m. on April 2.
 
Police said a 38-year-old man was crossing the street when a car traveling eastbound on L Street struck him. Paramedics arrived soon after and tried saving the pedestrian, but the he died at the scene.
 
Authorities withheld the victim’s identity pending next of kin notification.
 
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation, but after sobriety tests was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
 
The department’s traffic bureau was investigating the collision.
