Pedestrian Killed, Alcier Albert Arrested in Hit-and-Run near Marconi Avenue [Arden-Arcade, CA]

Police Arrest Alcier Albert after Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash in Arden-Arcade

 
ARDEN-ARCADE, CA (November 11, 2021) – A pedestrian died and police arrested Alcier Francis Albert after a hit-and-run crash in Arden-Arcade late Tuesday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 10:00 p.m. on November 9 near Marconi Avenue and Becerra Way. CHP officials said the 27-year-old suspect from Carmichael was speeding eastbound on Marconi when he struck the pedestrian on the roadway.
 
The pedestrian – a 59-year-old man – suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities withheld his name at this time.
 
Meanwhile, Albert drove away after the crash.
 
A Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office helicopter tried to locate the suspect vehicle, believed to be a dark Infiniti, possibly a G-series.
 
Shortly after officers arrived, Albert called dispatchers saying his vehicle was stolen. Officers later found the vehicle near El Camino Avenue at Bridle Path Lane, about 1.5 miles from where the crash happened.
 
Officers went to Albert’s home afterward to ask about the stolen vehicle report and the hit-and-run crash. They found evidence that Albert was the driver who hit the pedestrian.
 
Albert was arrested and now faces hit-and-run causing death and gross vehicular manslaughter charges. An investigation is still ongoing.
