Pedestrian Killed in Accident on 680 Freeway [Milpitas, CA]

Fatal Pedestrian Accident on 680 Freeway near Jacklin Road Off-Ramp in Milpitas

 
MILPITAS, CA (September 2, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in an accident on 680 Freeway late Wednesday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on August 31 at about 10:20 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, an Audi sedan hit the pedestrian in the no. 3 lane near the Jacklin Road off-ramp.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Responders issued a SigAlert to make way for clearing operations and an investigation. As per reports, all northbound lanes were reopened at about 11:30 p.m.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
