Iquisha Blaxon Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Big Rig in South LA

 
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (October 29, 2021) – A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run on Grand Avenue in South Los Angeles on Monday, October 25.
 
39-year-old Los Angeles resident Iquisha Blaxon died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office. Her family shared that Blaxon is a mother of four and worked as a tax preparer.
 
The fatal crash happened around 6:40 a.m. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Blaxon was walking to a store, crossing north on Grand Avenue and gage when she was hit by a tractor-trailer.
 
The vehicle was turning right on Gage Avenue when the collision occurred. However, the driver left the scene without stopping to render aid.
 
The truck is described as having a dark-colored, late model cab with a possible company logo attached to the driver’s side door, according to police. The trailer is white with numbers or lettering on the front and sides. No description is available of the trucker.
 
Blaxon’s family says a witness blamed speeding and bad weather. Her family wants it known there is now a $50,000 reward on the table for anyone who helps lead to the arrest of the driver who killed her.
