Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Van on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (May 11, 2022) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a van on Pacific Coast Highway near Santiago Avenue on Tuesday.
 
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the fatal crash happened around 1:50 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a white Dodge van heading westbound on Pacific Coast Highway struck a northbound curb. As a result, the truck entered a flower bed, rolled over several large bushes and sideswiped a nearby wall.
 
However, as rescue crews began moving the car, officers found an unconscious male pedestrian in the bush. Per reports, officers believe the man might have been sleeping in the bushes prior to the incident.
 
Despite efforts to save him, Long Beach Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead soon after. Authorities have yet to release his name.
