Driver Wanted after Hit-and-Run Accident on Church Street in Oakland
OAKLAND, CA (July 4, 2021) – A pedestrian is now in critical condition after a hit-and-run accident on Church Street on June 28.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Bancroft Avenue around 10:06 PM.
Based on reports, the 52-year-old woman was walking north across Bancroft near the intersection prior to the crash. At the same time, a black Volkswagen was driving west on Bancroft. Due to unknown reasons, the vehicle made a U-turn on Church Street and hit the woman.
As a result, the victim suffered major external and internal injuries. Paramedics transported her to a hospital for treatment.
At this time, officials are still investigating this hit-and-run accident on Church Street. In addition, traffic investigators said they’ll need to investigate further if they’re to determine whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the case.
