Police Arrest Man for Suspected DUI after Striking Pedestrian on Mission Boulevard in Pacific Beach

 
PACIFIC BEACH, CA (January 27, 2023) – A pedestrian was badly injured in a DUI crash at Mission Boulevard and Thomas Avenue in Pacific Beach on Sunday night.
 
The crash happened just before 6:30 p.m. on January 22. According to the San Diego Police Department, the 30-year-old pedestrian was walking in a crosswalk and attempted to cross the street from east to west when a silver 2011 Nissan Altima 4D struck him.
 
As a result, the victim suffered a fractured right tibia, C2, C7, T-1 thru T-3 compression fractures and an abrasion to his forehead.
 
The driver of the Nissan, a 60-year-old man, was found to be intoxicated during the crash. Police arrested him on suspicion of DUI.
 
An investigation into this crash is underway.
