Patrick Tobin Detained for Hitting Person at Mesa Village Laundromat on Meigs Road
SANTA BARBARA, CA (August 10, 2021) — Patrick Tobin faces charges for hitting a person with his truck at Mesa Village Laundromat on Meigs Road Friday evening.
According to the Santa Barbara Police Department, the incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. For unknown reasons, 51-year-old Tobin used his truck to hit a victim standing outside a laundry mart. Due to the impact, the victim went smashing 20 feet through the front glass window of the Mesa Village Laundromat.
According to witnesses, Tobin reversed his truck and fled the area. However, he ended up striking a concrete pillar before Santa Barbara fire officials arrived and detained him.
Following the accident, paramedics transported the victim to Cottage Hospital with moderate injuries. Meanwhile, officers arrested Tobin, booking him into Santa Barbara County jail for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
