Passenger Killed, Jordan Bourassa Arrested in DU Accident on Twin Peaks Road [Poway, CA]

Early Morning DUI Crash in Poway Kills Passenger, Police Arrest Jordan Bourassa

 
POWAY, CA (May 26, 2022) – A passenger died and police arrested Jordan Bourassa after a DUI crash in Poway on Wednesday, May 25.
 
The crash around 3:22 a.m. on Twin Peaks Road at Community Road. According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the 23-year-old suspect was driving a vehicle eastbound when he crashed into a signal light pole. The car then overturned on its roof.
 
First responders were able to free Bourasssa from the wreckage. However, the passenger remained trapped awaiting aid from the Poway Fire Department. Both men were then transported to Palomar Hospital in Escondido.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, the male passenger was pronounced dead at the hospital.
 
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the victim once family members are notified.
 
Police later arrested Bourassa on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, bodily injury, and vehicular manslaughter. They booked him into the San Diego Central Jail.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
