Fatal Car Accident on Plaza Boulevard in National City

 
NATIONAL CITY, CA (February 23, 2021) – A passenger died in a car accident on Plaza Boulevard in National City Monday last week.
 
According to National City Police, the accident happened around 1:30 p.m. February 15 near the on-ramp to northbound 805 Freeway.
 
Police said the vehicle’s driver and at least two passengers were injured. It was not immediately clear how many passengers were in the vehicle.
 
Paramedics rushed the injured parties to a hospital, where one of the passengers later died.
 
Authorities did not release the victim’s identity at this time.
 
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident. The circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation.
