NIPTON, CA (July 28, 2021) – A passenger died in a car accident on 15 Freeway in Nipton Thursday morning last week.
 
The accident happened around 6:00 a.m. on July 22, just north of Yates Well Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling southbound on the freeway when it rolled over several times and ultimately landed facing west.
 
When officers arrived, the confirmed that the passenger in the vehicle died from the crash. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
The condition of the driver was not unknown.
 
CHP officials are still trying to determine the ultimate cause of the crash and factors involved.
