Skateboarder Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Tarzana
TARZANA, CA (September 15, 2021) – Paris Camille Banks was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Tarzana early Tuesday morning.
The fatal crash happened around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Tampa Avenue and Oxnard Street. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Banks was riding a skateboard outside of a marked crosswalk when a silver Toyota Avalon traveling south on Tampa Avenue struck her.
After the crash, the driver of the Avalon continued southbound on Tampa Avenue.
Banks suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was a 32-year-old homeless woman, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
The city of Los Angeles offered a standing reward of up to $50,000 for information that will help police solve this case.
