REDDING, CA (July 7, 2021) — Oscar Castro Jr. was involved in a deadly pedestrian accident on Riverland Drive near Knighton Road Monday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 2:45 a.m. For unknown reasons, 18-year-old Castro struck a 25-year-old man with his southbound 1999 Toyota Corolla. Per reports, Castro became unable to steer out of the way prior to the impact.
 
At this time, authorities have ruled out alcohol and drugs as possible factors in the crash. Although, if anyone has more information on this accident, please contact the authorities.
