SAN DIEGO, CA (June 13, 2021) – One person suffered severe injuries in a pedestrian accident on 63rd Street on June 9.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Imperial Avenue at approximately 8:25 PM.
 
Based on a report, the victim was on the southwest corner of 63rd Street prior to the crash. Then, he crossed the street against the red light. After crossing all eastbound lanes, the victim walked over the center median and into the No. 1 westbound lane. There, a vehicle that was apparently trying to beat the yellow light at the intersection struck him. Subsequently, the San Diego Police Department said the vehicle fled the scene.
 
As a result, the victim sustained life-threatening injuries in the incident. Medics transported him to the hospital for treatment.
 
A detailed description of the suspect vehicle was not immediately available.
 
At this point, this pedestrian accident on 63rd Street is still under investigation.
