One Suffers Burn Injuries after Semi and Amazon Truck Collide on 5 Freeway near Newman

 
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (July 26, 2021) – One person sustained serious injuries in a truck accident on 5 Freeway near Newman.
 
The accident happened around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, along the northbound lanes of the freeway near the Stuhr Road exit. CHP officials said a semi truck and an Amazon truck collided, resulting in a fire.
 
An air ambulance was dispatched to the scene to transport a burn victim to a hospital.
 
Crews closed several freeway lanes in the area while they cleared the wreckage.
 
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the exact cause of the crash.
