One Person Dies in Multi-Car Crash on 5 Freeway

 
WOODLAND, CA (December 29, 2021) — One person died in Wednesday’s multi-car accident on the 5 Freeway near Highway 113.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. amid stopped traffic conditions. For unknown reasons, a driver in a Ford Expedition that was towing a trailer failed to stop in time behind a stopped Volkswagen vehicle. As a result, the Ford collided with the Volkswagen, pushing the Volkswagen into a Toyota.
 
As a result, the front seat passenger of the Volkswagen died in the accident and the 71-year-old driver was taken to a hospital in Vacaville. Police have not released the fatal victim’s name.
 
In addition, paramedics brought several others, including a 1-year-old and a 7-year-old sitting in the other vehicles, to UC Davis Medical Center for minor injuries.
