One Person Dies in Tracy Multi-Car Crash on 205 Freeway
TRACY, CA (March 23, 2021) — One person was killed in a multi-car accident on the 205 Freeway near Eleventh Street Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 1:40 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver, shuttling two passengers, tried making a turn on the 205 Freeway. However, the driver overcorrected and the car overturned in the No. 2 and 3 lanes.
At some point, the driver and two passengers were ejected from the vehicle. Subsequently, an oncoming driver crashed into their vehicle before a third driver struck one of the passengers in the road. Not long after, a fourth vehicle tried to stop but slammed into the second car.
Soon after, paramedics responded and transported the passenger and driver of the first car to a hospital with major injuries. Unfortunately, the other passenger died at the scene.
At this time, CHP has no information on the ultimate cause. However, if anyone has more information, please contact the CHP.
