PLACER COUNTY, CA (December 16, 2021) — One person died in a car accident on the 80 Freeway near Cisco Grove on Wednesday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened on the westbound 80 Freeway. Under unclear circumstances, a car crashed into a Caltrans vehicle. As a result of the incident, one person suffered fatal injuries.
 
Shortly after, CHP issued a closure to shut down the westbound freeway at Truckee and the Nevada state line.
